About Dr. Barotz

Dr. Sharon Barotz founded Tranquil Paws Veterinary to promote the quality of life of patients by offering therapies that complement more traditional western veterinary medical practices. She is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and received her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from the Chi Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Barotz is continuing her study of TCVM; she is currently taking advanced classes in Chinese Herbal Medicine and is working towards additional TCVM certifications. Her main professional interests are pain management, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and the human-animal bond.

Dr. Barotz grew up on the Upper East Side where she attended Hunter High School before going to Brandeis University for her undergraduate education. After veterinary school, she returned to the NYC area. She lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with her husband. Dr. Barotz loves the theater, especially musicals, and tries to see as many shows as possible with her family. She is also an avid cook and foodie with a passion for cultural and international cuisine. Dr. Barotz loves international travel and always looks forward to exploring new cities, cultures, and foods all over the world.

About Tranquil Paws

Tranquil Paws Veterinary is a veterinary practice that offers Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Laser Therapy to canine and feline patients. We are based on the upper east side of Manhattan and examine and are able to treat our patients in the comfort of their own homes. We provide veterinary services to the greater New York City metropolitan area.
